The Natural Park of Waterfalls called Mendelikha seems to have been created specially for taking hours long walks, listening to the soothing murmur of the mountain streams and feel at one with nature.

Lake Kardyvatch is the heart of the Caucasian Natural Biosphere Reserve. It is located at an altitude of 1,850 m above sea level, 35 km from the village of Krasnaya Polyana.

Polikarya waterfall, translated from Greek Bogatyrs or as it is often called in the common people "Pants" for its forked shape, is considered the highest waterfall in Sochi and one of the highest in Europe – almost 70 m.

The waterfall is located on the southern slope of mount Aibga, in the upper reaches of the Bezymyanka river, 4 km North of the village of Aibga. The drop of three steps of the waterfall is 75 m, which makes Bezymyanniy one of the highest waterfalls in the Krasnodar territory of Russia.

To enjoy the beauty of the Achipsinskie waterfalls you need to walk up a forest path to the Achishkho massif. Part of the route goes through boundless expanses of alpine meadows. This tour requires walking great distances and is divided into two stages. The first stage begins at the border of Sochi National Park and goes along the western slopes of Mount Achishkho to the beginnings of the River Achipse. There is where the famous Achipsinskie waterfalls are. The second stage is the return to the start point by the same route. The time frame for following this route are limited by the times of the year when it is completely covered by snow and by the mating season of the red deer. The route is open from 15 May to 15 October.

Matsesta is the largest balneology and therapy facility in Russia, opened as far back as the beginning of the 20th century in the valley of the Rivers Agura and Khosta. It was here that a large field of hydrosulphuric springs was discovered. Hydrogen sulphide is Matsesta’s most important therapeutic component. Entering the human body via the respiratory tract or skin, it acts on tissue and cell structure and facilitates the treatment of inflammatory conditions. Thanks to Matsesta water Sochi is a year-round resort to which holidaymakers travel throughout the year to improve their health.

Krasnaya Polyana is a wonderful natural area of the Western Caucasus, one of the centers of tourism and skiing. On all sides, the village is surrounded by picturesque mountain ranges-Achishkho, Aibga, Chugush, Assara, Pseashkho, Aishkha. At the extreme Eastern end of the Achishkho ridge, among the mountain ridge forest clearings, there are several relatively large heavily overgrown reservoirs that have a common name Khmelevsky lakes.

Orekhovskiye waterfalls are located near the Orekhovka village in a picturesque area with a fabulously beautiful scenery, as far as 14 km from Sochi. Orekhovsky waterfall is considered one of the highest and most beautiful among similar attractions located on the coast of Krasnodar Krai. The height of the cascade is 27.5 m. The waterfall is formed by the fall of the river Bezumenka waters from a 30-meter, almost vertical ledge (the steepness of the ledge is 70 degrees). The water falls in several streams. At the bottom of the waterfall there are two steps and, before the confluence with the Sochi river, there is a small pebble beach. The most spectacular is considered to be the lower stage. It is popular not only among travelers, but also among esotery scientists who avouch that it is a place of power. The waterfall changes its appearance seasonally. In summer, it can look like a weak, slowly flowing trickles of water, but in spring and during the river high water period the trickles turn into powerful boiling streams. Before the October revolution of 1917, the waterfall was called Melnichniy (The Mill Waterfall). Today's placename is associated with the location near the village of Orekhovka and walnut groves growing there.

This 800 meters long walking and educationalroute starts 120 metres from the edge of the village Nizhneorekhovo, and runs through the the territory of FGA Sochi National Park Verkhne-Sochinskoye Forestry across a tributary creek of the Sochi river called Bezumenka, and further on - along the left bank of the creek, on a well-maintained dirt road, equipped with boat landings, picnic areas and benches.

The river Zmeika (The Little Snake or the Romp) is the right tributary of the Matsesta river, called Zmeika for its shimmering in the sun and very twisty channel, or by the name of the nearby Zmeikamountain. The most interesting sectionfrom the fifth lower waterfall to the first upper one is 600 meters long. The first upper waterfall is two-tiered, the water flows down the steep chest of high rapids in six tightly twisted silver bundles, overflowing from the upper pool, where one can easily swim. The length of both tiers is about 30 meters. Above the upper tier of the waterfall to the left of the road and at the rock outcrop flows the emerald spring, which has crystal clear, cold water suitable for drinking.

One of the attractions of the Sochi resort is the Dagomys troughs, which are small natural pools on the Zapadniy Dagomys(Western Dagomys) river. Once upon a time, layers of rocks, collapsing, fell into the river and, blocking it, formed a kind of trough.

Aul Nadzhigo can be reached from the coast (Makopse village) by bus. After passing from the village on a dirt road to the East, then to the South and North (about 2 km), we get to the Kumyshtepe river - the right tributary of the Nadzhigo.

The Ashe river is known locally for its picturesque waterfalls Psydah and Shapsug.

Places ofamazing beauty can be seen by visiting the cordon Psluh belonging to the Caucasian Reserve. Just half an hour of exciting travel along the picturesque Psluh river will take one to the unique beauty of the walnut and pear glade, which offers magnificent views of the surrounding mountain slopes.

The waterfall was formed by erosion of shale rock 40-50 thousand years ago. It is 9.5 metres high and 1.5 metres wide. Where the water falls a lake 7 metres in diameter has formed. The walls of the canyon are horseshoe shaped (up to 20 metres high), steep and are thicketed with boxwood and ivy. 

Chvizhepse Narzan spring is located in the valley of the river Chvizhepse in theChvizhepsevillage isolated terraincalled Medvezhiy Ugol (Bear corner).

Glubokiy Yar waterfall (or Dragon Mouth as it is called during excursions) is located near the mouth of the river of the same name, a left tributary of the Mzymta river. Its height is 41.5 m. This is one of the highest waterfalls in Greater Sochi.

If you are planning to spend your holiday relaxing in the resorts of Sochi, then visit a place in the picturesque valley of the Kuapse river called Berendeevo Tzarstvo, which is translated as Berendey’s Kingdom. That place is special by its extraordinary beauty and unique rock formations, waterfalls and mountain bowls. Attention is drawn to a cascade of seven waterfalls, the highest of which reaches 27 meters. Waterfalls and other natural attractions here are named after the heroes of Alexander Ostrovsky's fairy tale ‘The Snow Maiden’. The slopes of the gorge are covered with in a variety of trees and shrubs. Among them, one can see Iberian oak, maple, hornbeam, Pontic rhododendron and yellow rhododendron, elderberry, hazel trees and many other plants. The total length of the route is 1200 meters and it is divided into two stages. The first stage is 450 meters. The trail passes through the picturesque gorge along the Creek to seven falls. The trail is easy to walk, as it is equipped with pedestrian bridges and Park furniture. The first waterfalls the visitors see are very beautiful small waterfalls called Kupava and Bezymyanny. The road which runs along the rivercrosses Mezgir’s bridge; and the diamond in the crown of the valley is the 27-meter-high Berendey's Beard waterfall. Further along the route you can see the altar of the goddess Lada and the lake called Happiness. The second stage of the route is 700 meters long. The path starts from the observation deck, located near the Berendey’s Beard waterfall, and continues its way along the pedestrian path to the Bezymyannaya mountain, where there is a megalith complex consisting of a" Sanctuary " and a trough-shaped dolmen with menhirs. On one of the menhirs you can see preserved petroglyphs that were left for us by the ancient builders of the bronze age. Not far from the "Sanctuary" there are medieval burials of Adygs-Shapsugs. In addition, on the Berendey’s Kingdom territory there is a cafe and there is Berendey’s throne, on which anyone can sit for a while. In the café, you can taste shashlik and other dishes of national Adyghe cuisine, trout fried on coals, and enjoy a cup of Lazarev tea with mountain Caucasian honey.

This is the most beautiful mountain gorge with a cascade of numerous waterfalls of heights up to 12 metres. The gorge is in an oak forest where you can also see hornbeam, alder, maple and southern exotics like relict endemic boxwood with vines, ferns, butcher’s broom and mosses. It is a natural monument and a component element of Sochi National Park, and is protected by the state.

Keiv falls, one of Sochi’s natural gems, is located in the city’s Adler district, tucked away among dense mountain thickets in the picturesque surroundings of Krasnaya Polyana village.

This small but very picturesque natural object is located in Lazarevsky district of the resort, on the river Psezuapse, near Tatianovka village. Aquarius is not a high waterfall – its height is only 10 meters, and it is about 2 meters wide. The waterfall received its sonorous name in honor of the large zodiacal constellation. According to legend, the ancient Sumerians saw that constellation as the personification of Ana - the God of Heaven, who gives the Earth the life-giving and healing waters. It is quite easy and entirely stress-free to visit Aquarius: there are comfy benches, easy to climb stairs and bridges that fit perfectly into the verdant picture of these charming places all along the path. It is noteworthy that in summertime, the water temperature here is actually equal to the temperature of the sea, and the shallow depth presents no danger for bathing - tourists can safely take a dip in the clear waters of Aquarius. In order to get to Aquarius waterfall, you need to take bus number 156 or 157 to Tatianovka village. The same stop also serves as the gathering point for the tour groups, which are taken to Aquarius by guides.
